Give your child a unique learning opportunity.  Beloved librarian Frank Kleyn will host a "Scratch" Computer Programming class on Saturday April 29th from 9-11 am in the Lake Forest Park Library for kids grades 2-6 who want to learn more about this amazing computer program.  

Scratch is a programming language and an online community where children can program and share interactive media such as stories, games and animation with people from all over the world.  As children create with Scratch, they learn to think creatively, work collaboratively, and reason systematically.  Scratch is designed and maintained by the Lifelong Kindergarten group at the MIT Media Lab.  

To become a fluent Scratch programmer requires a lot of learning and practice.  This introductory course will allow students to dip their toes into Scratch to see if it's sometning they would like to continue learning.  Students will use accounts managed by Mr. Kleyn.  If students would like to continue learning Scratch, Mr. Kleyn will give parents informaiton on creating a student account.
